Entire digest on February 19, 2010 by Flamin from U.S.

Reader's Digest magazine has far too many ads and the stories are just light fluff. Every other page in the magazine is an ad.

Good easy read on November 10, 2009 by Avidreader from Charlottesville, VA

  • Pros: Has lots of small articles that you can read and then come back to
  • Cons: none

I enjoy reading Reader's Digest magazine and have for years. This is easy to read and I usually sit as soon as I receive it and read it from cover to cover. It covers all different kinds of topics.

Great Gift on August 21, 2009 by Mamaw from Greenville, South Carolina

  • Pros: None What Soever
  • Cons: Small,Easy to Read

I have been buying Reader's Digest for my 3 children for years as one of their Christmas gifts. They all have families of their own now and they all enjoy it. I think they enjoy it more than any of their expensive gifts. They save every copy and read them over and over. My daughter-in-law throws out all of the other magazines but Reader's Digest is a keeper. I hope the company that publishes Reader's Digest stays in business until I am gone from this earth for Christmas would not be the same without their Reader's Digest. It is easy to hold in bed and doesn't knock you out if you fall asleep and drop it on your head; it is easy to read on an airplane or while traveling or waiting in a doctor's office. It's the best magazine we all subscribe to.

ABOUT READER'S DIGEST

The first issue of Reader's Digest was published in 1922 by a World War I veteran and his wife. In 1929, it was first put on newsstands and in August of 2005 published the 1000th U.S. issue. A typical edition consists of a survival story, a medical article, an achievement story, stories on human relations, several articles offering advice and a politically focused article. Reader's Digest tends to present a conservative, pro-American view. Also standard in each issue are comics, jokes, and puzzles. The richness and diversity of the Reader's Digest Magazine makes it one of America's great general interest publications. Reader's Digest is also available in a large print edition.
