  • Cons: a bate-and-switch for kids interested in science and wildlife

National Geographic Kids magazine has interesting story ideas but VERY superficially covered. LOTS of things to buy - just to follow-up on the topics included in the magazine. Subscription is self-perpetuating, which is really unnecessary if the magazine is worth the money and/or time. This magazine is heavily advertised to kids, who don't understand the nature of the bate-and-switch they are being served. A big lesson in CAVEAT EMPTOR. Lessons in the natural world are micro-mini by comparison.
