Good women's magazine on December 17, 2009 by lmm from Pennsylvania

  • Pros: Good variety of articles, not so sex focused as Cosmo, good mix of style and information
  • Cons: Little ad heavy, sometimes some very high prices listed

Glamour magazine is a nice option in the Cosmo/Instyle/Elle genre of magazines. It has a good balance of informative articles vs style, does a nice job of not being overly sex focused (but does touch on relevant or interesting topics in that category, just doesn't overdo it), interviews a nice variety of stars/women making a difference.

  • Pros: every issue has stuff in it that i could use
  • Cons: seemed to be unrealistic for the typical person

I wish Glamour gave more ways for the normal household income to be able to dress and do things like it shows.

Too Many Articles about Sex on August 13, 2009 by Forensicdeb from USA

I ordered Glamour magazine for my teenage daughter; she loves seeing the new fashion styles. I was excited for her to get it. When the magazine arrive, I was very disappointed. There are so many articles about sex. I was very surprised and very upset. I have to review the magazine before she looks at it and tear many pages out before she can see it.

I am just got out of college and started subscribing to Glamour. It's a very fun magazine. My only complaint is the products listed are a bit expensive. However, at least they are not as much as a whole bunch of other magazines out there (Elle, Instyle etc).

  • Pros: Cute, nice, young fashion
  • Cons: Started featuring too many luxury brands

Used to get this until they started to use too many luxury brands in their editorials. Who can afford $800 or $900 shoes or $1500 purses? It used to be a good magazine that did feature aspirational items, but they were at least with reach of those of us with good jobs! Now, Glamour is trying to be W or Vogue and it's not working!
